Extra-Curricular Activities
Our School provides students with a host of opportunities above and beyond regular curriculum provision. Some of these include:
VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR:
The annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular program is an invaluable performing arts opportunity for Victoria’s government primary and secondary school students. The program showcases and unites government school communities through working towards a common goal of more students reaching the highest level of achievement in the arts, ensuring kids are happy, healthy and resilient, and building pride in our schools.
The Spectacular has become an invaluable rite of passage for Victoria’s top young talent, and a cherished, memorable education experience for all participants.
OUR KIDS RIDE program: Thanks to an Active School grant we were able to purchase a fleet of mountain bikes, with pedal conversion kits, and fully adjustable helmets. Students receive training to learn to ride properly and also have bikes available to ride during recess times. As part of this initiative, plans are underway to create a track around the oval to use the bikes on.
SPORT: Students have the opportunity to participate in inter-school netball, football and athletics.
STUDENT LEADERS: Our School has a highly active Student Leaders Group which meets regularly and organizes activities such as social activities for students, special theme days, fund-raising for the school and fund-raising for charities.
CAMPS AND EXCURSIONS: Our students have multiple opportunities to attend a variety of excursions with the school. These range from day trips for younger children to full week camps for older students. The destinations for camps and excursions are decided on a year by year basis.
